Guerilla Marketing – Freebies and Telephone Numbers

Guerrilla Marketing for All
The following techniques will be relevant for all businesses (on-line and off-line), where as guerrilla marketing specifically for on-line businesses will be covered in a separate section later in the article.
Free Stuff
Stationery, key rings, sweets, software, t-shirts, posters…if it’s free, we’ll take it – even if it’s something that we don’t really need. Freebies are brilliant for attracting attention, but whatever you give, make sure that it links them back to your business. Add your name, web-site address, phone number…anything that acknowledges your business.
Some ideas:
- A business card with a calendar or/and with web site addresses for travel information, tickets etc
- A key ring with an unusual/topical picture of something
- A small software program that works out how many units of beer allowance you would use up in two-weeks in Tenerife
A bit odd ? That’s the point!
If you are giving away something, word will spread from friend to friend and consequently your business has now come into the light of the public. Now that your image has grown, people may be intrigued by your branding and possibly choose to purchase from you in the future.
If your freebie is useful or thoughtful, your kindness will be rewarded. Remember – customer care goes a long way.
Using Easy to Remember Telephone Numbers
If you give customers an easy and fun way of remembering your phone number, it will encourage them to use it because they don’t have to look up numbers in the Yellow Pages.
For example, your telephone number may spell out something, say, your business name, using the letters on the phone buttons.
