The Internet is excellent for guerrilla marketing because it provides a 24 hour, 7 day a week campaign, reaching a wide audience with little effort.

Bring Them to Your Site - By ANY Means

Getting new people to come to your site can be very hard. Sometimes it may call for you to try alternative and new ideas for getting peoples attention.
 
The first idea would be to introduce an on-line game to your web-site that people will find addictive if anything else. If you can find a game that is relevant to your business - brilliant.


 This approach is more likely to attract younger people, so be sure that they are included in your target audience before adopting the idea.

Although people will be pulled in by the entertainment, most people may decide to browse your site whilst they are there. (which may help to promote business)

Try adding humour to your web site, without offending people of course, as customers always welcome that extra incentive to look at somebody's site.

Keep the humour relevant to the content and don't go too far with the jokes, as they may distract people from actually buying something.

Referring back to the freebies section, why not offer free downloads even if it is not entirely relevant to your business. Such things may include desktop wallpaper, screensavers, images, etc.

All the above can be used to attract customers to your site even if they have no idea what you are selling in the first place. The point is the interactivity has pulled them in and they may refer your site to other people if they have a good experience. Obviously, try not to turn your sportswear site into a gaming zone, but use these tactics to draw people in - you should notice the difference.

Share Your Content

Try to find sites that would welcome sharing your content. This would be mutually beneficial as the other sites would have added, and perhaps more useful, content, and you would benefit from the free marketing (assuming that the content was acknowledged back to you).

E-mail

Have you ever received a humorous e-mail and forwarded it to one of your friends? Just imagine how many people that e-mail has been to and the amount of time that it has been around for. Wouldn't it be brilliant if a similar e-mail were distributed the same way with your web-site address included?

Well, what's stopping you? If you have a funny photo, joke or image, again without being offensive - send it out. It is more likely to be appreciated if it relates to recent events in the news: timing is important.

People may credit the humour by visiting the source of the joke - your web-site. Although the e-mail had nothing to do with your site or product/service, it has directed people your way.
