How Can Blogging

Benefit Your Business?

Over the past few years you may have heard about the rise of blogging. Many people are calling it the big new promotional marketing tool for businesses; and while they won’t make you a millionaire or bring in overnight success, they can be a valuable way of increasing knowledge and trust of your business with customers and potential customers alike.

What is a Blog?

A blog is essentially an online diary or journal that people can read and reply to. They have been popular as personal journals for several years, but in the past year they have taken off as a cheap yet potentially powerful business tool.

What Can a Blog do for Your Business?

The main benefit of a blog is that your customers can keep up to date with new products and services you offer.

You can post interesting developments and offers, and inform both customers and non-customers for virtually no cost. For only the cost of your (or an employees) time you can register and start a decently functioned blog in under an hour.
Blogs can be great at attracting non-customers to buy from you; any interested person can read and comment on your blog entries. If they like your blog, they are more likely to want to buy from you. A blog is interactive, you make a comment or post some news and then your readers can comment on it or discuss it further. This interaction helps people to trust your business more; it also gives your business a much more personal feel, even if your blog is only run by one member of staff for 10 minutes a day! Bear in mind that a blog is only likely to benefit your business if your business has locations around the country or online / telephone sales; as people may otherwise be unable to buy from you. You also need to update it regularly with interesting content, otherwise people will get bored of it and stop visiting; but even if your blog only has a small effect, it still wont cost you much. Another point worth noting is that monitoring industry blogs is a great way to keep up with developments in your field of business.
