When you are declared bankrupt by the court – whether from your own petition or that of one of your creditors – the court may issues a certificate of summary administration. This certificate will make the administration of your bankruptcy quicker and simpler.
The court can issue a certificate of summary administration if:
- your unsecured debts are less than £20,000
- you have not been bankrupt in the last five years
- you have not had an individual voluntary arrangement in the last five years
