Commencing Fast Track and Multi Track actions in the County Court
The ‘Fast Track’
If your claim is between £5,000 and £15,000 you will be allocated to the ‘Fast Track’. The fast track is within the county court, and usually conducted for the litigants by legal representation.
The time limit of the trial is one day: in an attempt to limit costs and keep the trial simple.
The ‘Multi Track’
Claims for over £15,000 will be allocated to the ‘Multi Track’. The claim can be heard in either the High or county court – depending on the Claimants choice of court and the nature of claim. The time allocated will be one week.
The pre-trial emphasis is on case management conference: in an attempt to get the Claimant and Defendant to talk and settle.
