Why Stress Could be Good For You

Be Positive
Stress automatically makes us think negative, which certainly does not help the case. Instead, pull yourself together, collect positive thoughts and go at it. Remaining positive will help you achieve your goal and allow you to pull through the stress barrier with as little pain as possible.
Tell yourself “I will make this deadline” or “It’s not a problem I can’t deal with” – use the stress as adrenalin.
Stay Healthy
Eat well, exercise and maintain regular sleeping patterns to stay healthy. You are more likely to battle stress effectively when you are in good shape both mentally and physically.
Stress Can be Good!
New research is trying to tell us that stress should be welcomed. Increasing evidence is pointing to how stress can:
- Prevent cancer from returning
- Reduce the chance of heart attack
- Increase life expectancy
- Boost the immune system
- Increase brain power
Well, do you feel any better no w? Probably not but at least when you are stressed, it’ s not all bad.
Stress is a sign of our body preparing us for action. When we get stressed, your body is pumped with chemicals, your heart beats faster, your muscles tense and your mind becomes more focused. These changes allow us to master the situations by making that deadline or giving that bad news to an important customer. More clearly, stress helps us complete tasks successfully under times of pressure.
Summary
Stress will always come into our working lives and if you are a business owner or manager – God help you! Consequently, you have to learn how to deal with or ‘manage’ stress to avoid letting your business suffer at the same time.
As we all know, stress causes physical and physiological problems, and so you should recognise symptoms early so that you can take action to prevent further, more serious conditions. There are many techniques that can help you manage stress and if you decide to remember only one of them – make it count.
At all times, you should acknowledge that stress can be healthy for you in certain ways. Remember, without stress, you would not have the ability to complete the task during those times of pressure and so it should be at least welcomed to some degree.
As always, we wish you good health today and in the future…but now what you do with that health is down to you.
